General Conditions for Access to the Development Workshops and Laboratories
The Development Workshops and Laboratories (VDL) serve as a professional facility of the Technical University in Zvolen, intended for education, research, and innovation activities.
Access to and work within these premises are permitted only under the following conditions:
- entry is allowed only during VDL operating hours (from 7:00 to 15:00) and in the physical presence of VDL staff,
- access to the facilities is conditional upon completion of safety training,
- all persons are required to comply with the VDL operating regulations and follow the instructions of responsible staff,
- it is forbidden to operate or handle machines and equipment without authorization,
- visitors and external partners may enter only when accompanied by an authorized staff member.
Conditions for Working with Machinery and Technological Equipment
- operation of machines, tools, and technological equipment is permitted only after prior professional training,
- employees and PhD students are allowed to work independently,
- students may work only under the direct supervision of an authorized person (lecturer or VDL staff member),
- in case of any malfunction, unusual behavior, or damage to a machine, work must be immediately stopped and reported to the responsible technician,
- unauthorized interventions or modifications to machine settings or control systems are strictly prohibited.
General Safety Rules
- before starting work, all users must be familiar with the location of main switches, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits,
- the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory – including safety glasses, hearing protection, workwear, protective footwear with toe caps, and respirators where required,
- loose clothing, long hair, jewelry, and hanging accessories must be secured to prevent entanglement in moving parts,
- gloves must not be worn when working with rotating machines,
- it is forbidden to smoke, eat, or drink in workshop areas,
- all accidents, injuries, or hazardous situations must be reported immediately to the workshop supervisor.
Workplace Organization and Conduct
- all users must maintain cleanliness, order, and safe organization of their workspace throughout the working period,
- waste and material residues must be sorted and disposed of in designated containers,
- tools and instruments must be returned to their assigned storage places after use,
- the workplace must be left clean, tidy, and safe after completion of work,
- all individuals are expected to behave responsibly, considerately, and in accordance with occupational health and safety principles (OHS),
- disturbing others, using mobile devices, or playing music while operating machines is strictly prohibited.
