Supporting Learning, Creativity, and Innovation through Real-World Experience
The Development Workshops and Laboratories of TUZVO (VDL) offer students from all university faculties a unique opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world practice.
They provide a space where students can experiment, design, develop their own products, and test technological processes using modern industrial and technological equipment.
Ways for Students to Get Involved
VDL are open to both individual and team-based student activities within:
- practical training in professional subjects,
- bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses,
- student research and development projects,
- innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives,
- design and prototype projects,
- volunteering and internship programs.
Students have the opportunity to work with modern production technologies in the environment of a real operational unit. This experience allows them to gain valuable hands-on skills that are highly appreciated in professional practice.
TUZVO FACTORY – Student Product Incubator
One of the flagship initiatives of VDL is TUZVO FACTORY, a student product incubator that promotes creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and innovation.
The incubator enables students to:
- develop their own ideas from concept to prototype,
- collaborate in interdisciplinary teams (technologist – designer – marketer),
- test products in real production conditions,
- receive mentorship and expert support from university specialists and industry professionals,
- present their projects at exhibitions, trade fairs, and competitions.
Makerspace and WoodMakers Hub
Students also have access to an open creative environment – the Makerspace, and the upcoming WoodMakers Hub, a modern shared space equipped with technologies for manual woodworking and design creation.
These facilities are designed for:
- experimentation with materials and technologies,
- development of student projects and prototypes,
- teamwork and creation of interactive models,
- presentation of results and prototypes as part of courses or exhibitions.
