A Bridge Between Research, Innovation, and Practice

The TUZVO Technology Transfer Center (CTT TUZVO) has been operating since October 1, 2025, as part of the Development Workshops and Laboratories of TUZVO (VDL).

It represents a new material and technology platform of the university, designed to connect scientific knowledge with industrial practice and to support the commercialization of research and development results.

Mission and Vision

The primary mission of CTT TUZVO is to streamline the transfer of innovative solutions from the academic environment into practical application, while strengthening the university’s intellectual property protection system.

The vision is to create a professional environment for innovation management, enabling the university to systematically manage its know-how, patents, designs, and technologies and effectively apply them in cooperation with industrial partners.

Main Areas of Activity

  • Intellectual Property Protection (IP Management) – support for staff and researchers in applying for patents, utility models, industrial designs, and trademarks.
  • Licensing and Commercialization of Research Results – facilitating the transfer of technologies and know-how into practice through licensing agreements or industrial partnerships.
  • Support for Spin-off and Start-up Projects – assistance in establishing university-based companies and connecting research-driven ideas with market opportunities.
  • Technology Readiness Assessment (TRL) – evaluating the maturity level of technologies to prepare them for operational validation (TRL 7–8).
  • Consulting and Training – providing education and advisory services for employees, PhD students, and students in the fields of patent protection, innovation, and technology transfer.

Connection with the Development Workshops and Laboratories of TUZVO

CTT TUZVO closely cooperates with the Development Workshops and Laboratories, which provide the technical and experimental facilities needed for the development, testing, and validation of new technologies.

Thanks to this cooperation, it is possible to advance scientific outputs from the laboratory level to the stage of verification under real operational conditions, preparing them for industrial commercialization.

Support for University Projects

The Center offers services to university employees, students, and partners of TUZVO who need to:

  • assess the commercial potential of research results,
  • protect newly created know-how and intellectual property,
  • prepare a technology transfer strategy,
  • identify and engage partners for practical implementation.

Through this support, CTT TUZVO complements the university’s research and development activities with key elements of innovation management and entrepreneurial development.

The shared goal is to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem, in which the results of TUZVO’s research are naturally transformed into products, processes, and services with real added value for society.
