TUZVO FACTORY is a student product incubator operating within the Development Workshops and Laboratories of TUZVO (VDL).

Its mission is to foster creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation among students of the Technical University in Zvolen by connecting education, research, and real-world practice.

Mission and Objectives

The goal of TUZVO FACTORY is to create an environment where students can bring their ideas to life – from an initial concept to a finished prototype or a market-ready product.

The incubator combines the expert knowledge of the university with the technical capacities of VDL, providing a unique opportunity to merge design thinking, technical realization, and entrepreneurial experience.

Main Areas of Activity

• Support for student innovation projects – mentoring, technical assistance, expert consultations, and production support.
• Prototyping and experimental manufacturing – using woodworking and mechanical workshops, CNC technologies, 3D printing, and digital fabrication tools.
• Product design and development – creating functional, ergonomic, and aesthetically refined solutions with an emphasis on sustainability.
• Presentation and real-world validation – testing products in real environments and participating in fairs, exhibitions, and competitions.
• Entrepreneurial skill development – training in marketing, project management, branding, and commercialization.

Projects and Educational Integration

TUZVO FACTORY is closely integrated with the education of technical and design-oriented study programs. Projects are developed within courses, final theses, and research assignments, giving students the opportunity to experience the full product development cycle – from idea and design to final presentation.

By working with real technologies under the guidance of academic and industry professionals, students enhance their technical, creative, and entrepreneurial competences.
